About half of the adult population has experienced sleeping problems sometime in their life. Around one in ten people has chronic sleep problems or insomnia. This is a persistent problem that makes it difficult for people to fall and stay asleep, or both. It causes people to wake up feeling like they haven’t slept at all, which can also mean grouchiness and impatience.
There are various possible reasons as to why people suffer from chronic lack of sleep or insomnia which may involve certain health problems, chronic pain conditions, psychological disturbances, as well as lifestyle habits.
Although the amount of sleep that is considered sufficient varies for every individual, most people who complain of this problem are women, elderly, people with mental health problems, and people living within a lower income bracket.

This includes practicing sleep hygiene, or habits that can help you sleep, such as adjusting bedroom lighting, maintaining regular sleep hours, and curtailing smoking and consuming alochol close to bedtime. Relaxation therapy such as meditation, listening to soothing music and aromatherapy may also be done. You can also try turning your TV off earlier, avoiding caffeinated drinks after 6 pm, and only going to sleep when you’re tired.
There are so many different ways to get your sleep schedule back on track, and it’s important that you try these healthy practices before you turn to manufactured sleep aids.
